It is a great honour and privilege to serve as President of Portadown Rugby Football Club.
Hika Reid again coaches the senior squad, and I am confident that under his guidance and with the leadership of Diarmaid O’Kane, Club Captain for a third successive year, they will perform well. Our goal must simply be to get back to winning ways..
We are very fortunate to have such generous sponsors and benefactors, and I would wish to acknowledge the vital contribution that they make to the well being of the Club. Our main sponsor over the last number of years has been Wade Training and we are delighted that Annesley Renshaw has been as supportive as ever.
The primary aim of any club is to promote the playing of rugby for all who are keen to take part in the sport. I therefore wish the players in all our teams, including those in the Youth and Mini sections, the very best for the season in terms of success and enjoyment of the game.
I am a firm believer that this Club will only be as good as the efforts of its members. There is always a job somewhere for any who want to be a part of its continued growth. Furthermore, remember that Portadown is your Club, so please support it by attending not only matches but also the social events that are critical in making a rugby club a success off the pitch. Above all enjoy the rugby!
